Books of 2021

I know I'm a little late with this but I'm still wanted to share with you my favourite books from 2021. These are all books I rated highly or just thoroughly enjoyed! Most of them are sequels or full series as I love the character development you get over a full series and these sequels wowed me!

I have added a purchase link and the Goodreads link for the first book in the series underneath if any take you fancy!

Zodiac Academy series - In a world of Fae when your Zodiac determines who you are and the power you have, zodiac academy follows twins who are thrust into the world with no knowledge. The four boys in charge are determined to stop them from ruling. A bully academy romance that develops into a story of love, power, development with a lot of fun and hilarity.

The Kingdom of Copper - This is the second book in The Daevabad Trilogy and it cemented my absolute adoration for this series. Its a story with beautiful writing, complex magical, intricate politics and magnetic characters. This book showed some intense character development and showed how truly cruel and damning ignorance and blind hate can be, offering an important insight into these problem in a fantasy setting.

Covet - The third book in the Crave series, it’s set at an academy for the supernatural in our world and this book continued the story perfectly. It was not only entertaining but gave me all the love, angst, pain, sacrifice and heartbreak. Found family vibes, with a cast of characters that are just so loveable.

Kingdom of the Cursed - Whilst I enjoyed Kingdom of the Wicked, this sequel was so much better for me! The angst, the reveals, the steam (this is a NA book), the setting of hell! A bingeworthy book if ever there was one.

The Crown of Gilded Bones - The third book in the FBAA series continues the story perfectly. I have to say I did re read the first two books immediately beforehand and that was vital in helping me remember and understand the details of the events in TCOGB. It developed the story to the next level, with more love and more shocking reveals than I could count and it set up the next book beautifully.

Gleam - The third book in the Plated Prisoner series, it gave me the character development I’d been craving. Auren finally gave into it all and let herself embrace her power. Slade was everything and the steam was delicious. A perfect fantasy adult romance with a gripping story. A King Midas reimagining.

Throne of Glass - this was my first time reading the Throne of Glass series and I adored the story. In particular Empire of Storms had me irreversibly in love with this series, the pain, sacrifice and just unpredictable plans coming to fruition was beautiful and unforgettable.
